Start a beautiful Texas morning with these classic broiled tomatoes.
Ingredients
- 3 large, fresh tomatoes, cut in half, crosswise
- salt and freshly ground pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tablesppons Italian dressing (bottled or homemade vinaigrette)
- 3 tablespoons grated Romano cheese
Instructions
- Sprinkle salt and pepper on the cut side of each of the tomato halves. Broil for 4 minutes, about 4 inches from the heat. Remove from the broiler.
- On each tomato half, place 1 teaspoon butter, 1 teaspoon chopped parsley, 1 teaspoon dressing, and 1 generous teaspoon Romano cheese.
- Return to the broiler for 2 minutes.
- Serve immediately.
