Brown Onion Gravy

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon safflower or olive oil
- 1 large onion, halved and sliced
- 1-1/2 cups water
- 2 teaspoons vegetable seasoning (like Spike)
- 1/4 teaspoon dried tarragon
- 1/8 teaspoon sage
- 1/4 teaspoon chervil
- dash of nutmeg
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet.
- Add onion slices and sauté over medium heat until onion wilts and begins to brown.
- Add water, vegetable seasoning, tarragon, sage, chervil and nutmeg. Bring to a boil and lower to medium-low heat.
- Cook until gravy is reduced to about 3/4 cup.
