Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup catsup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard (your choice: Dijon, German, yellow)
  • 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco sauce


Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, sauté onion and garlic in the butter until tender.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 15 to 20 minutes.

Notes

Use as a basting sauce for pork, chicken or beef. Refrigerate leftovers.
