The Paloma is the most popular tequila cocktail in Mexico. (In the United States, it’s second place to the margarita.) Make it with grapefruit juice and club soda, however it’s traditionaly made with a grapefruit soda, like Squirt soda. Yes. Squirt soda…. in the green bottles in the soda section of the grocery store.
I have noticed when I order a Paloma in a bar, the bartenders use a small can of sparkling grapefruit soda like Fever Tree or Q. In grocery stores or liquor stores, those are found with the mixers.
